Jan Kasprzycki’s art work is full of color and passion which served as the perfect inspiration for the new site design. We wanted to showcase his artwork without overpowering it, so we created a series of painterly backdrops to compliment his artistic style. We created a custom CMS which allows the artist to control his gallery and add paintings and artwork quickly and easily. We also simplified the inquiry form for the user by auto-filling the selected artwork’s information into the form.

Bump Networks was awarded the Credit Union Standard of Excellence by the Web Marketing Association for the creation of Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union.

Each site is assigned to three or more expert judges for evaluation.  The judges are informed of the mission statement and prospective audience for the site and provided a link with password, if needed, to enter and review the site.   Judges are not told who submitted the entry or which category it is entered into.  They visit the site starting with the URL provided on the entry form and assume the role of a target user.  After reviewing the site, they enter their scores for seven different judging criteria and sometimes overall comments before moving on to the next site.  At the conclusion of the judging, the two highest scores are averaged for the final score.  Any lower scores are dropped, although the comments are retained and provided to the participants.

Each site is judged on each of the seven criteria, earning a score between 0 and 70 points.  The highest score in a given category wins Best Website of that industry. If the remaining entries receive a score of 60 or greater, they receive the Outstanding Website WebAward. Entries receive the Standard of Excellence WebAward when their score is above the average of their industry, but below 60 points.

Earlier this year, we launched an 11 page proof-of-concept website that focused on Maui’s Top 10 Activities. The sale of activities is a competitive industry and we wanted to figure out how to best carve a niche in a saturated market. We intended to prove that ‘content is king’ by taking the time to gather large, beautiful images and to craft unique and interesting activity descriptions. We supported high quality content with modern design and connected each activity detail page to a simple inquiry form. We launched MauiActivities.com, listed the business on Google Places, and backed the website with 15 hours worth of SEO efforts to help build organic rank. Within three months the site had paid for itself and everyone felt confident that developing a fully functional e-commerce website would be worth the investment.

We kept our emphasis on content by expanding the information, media and features available on MauiActivities.com. Finding the perfect activity is fun and easy with informative category landing pages. Activities within a category can be viewed in list format or in a comparison grid. Each activity features a large media gallery offering images and videos, unique copy, reviews, location and directions, pricing and booking information. Activity bookings are accomplished in three simple steps and users can use guest checkout or sign in with their Facebook accounts. This Activity website supports both the creation and advertising of special deals and exciting combination packages.  Additionally, we outfitted MauiActivities.com with blog to help them offer more information on traveling to Maui, Hawaii. Both their blog roll and Facebook likebox are featured prominently on the homepage and social media sharing options are available site wide. MauiActivites.com offers a fresh look at the various activities available on Maui and we are proud to have helped set the stage for what we hope becomes the leading activity website on Maui.
